"We all have those go-to pieces in our closet that we keep for years and literally wear out before we retire them. I'm here to make the go-tos, always available."
Sodom Rose was created for you & me. I struggled finding things that fit my personal style, was affordable and high quality. Most Hot new trends are simply not my style and I don't want to spend $500 for a leather jacket or $200 for a pair of jeans. I figured that I wouldn't be the only one so, I created Sodom Rose boutique.
Our Story
Sodom Rose was born in 2019. The original launch was supposed to be in June of 2020, which got pushed back to a later date. Due to not being satisfied with products that I had been testing for over a year. Clothing and other items wouldn't hold up to my standards and the quality was trash. The idea came alive to simply offer more timeless, quality pieces.
From neutrals to statement pieces that fit everyone's wardrobe through all season.
Your favorite leather jacket. Those pair of jeans that you'd like to wear everyday if you could until they fall apart. The shoes that walk through life with you for thousands of miles. Comfy sweater that you've had for years and still wear all the time. This is what my mission is for SodomRose.

Our mission
A shop that would offer you all your basic needs, from denim to basic shirts. All the items that never go out of style.
Think of a denim jacket or a black leather jacket. A pair of jeans. That one comfy sweater you've had forever. A few basic shirts that can simply go with everything.
Jewelry pieces that we keep coming back to those must-haves items!
You get my point.
This is what Sodom Rose wants to be for you. Not to follow a Hot trend that's gone with the blink of an eye.
But that is not all. I always strive to offer you best of the best quality. Preferably made here in America or in Europe. I try to select smaller business as well, to help support them. But quality always comes first.
Quality over Quantity.

"Fashion is about dressing according to what’s fashionable. Style is more about being yourself."
—Oscar de la Renta
"What you wear is how you present yourself to the world, especially today, when human contacts are so quick. Fashion is instant language."
—Miuccia Prada

"Fashion is what you're offered four times a year by designers. And style is what you choose." —Lauren Hutton
"Don't be into trends. Don't make fashion own you. You decide who you are, what you want to express by the way you dress and the way you want to live."
—Gianni Versace

QUALITY
The materials of the product is the most important part. Quality of your clothes will determine how long they'll last and be more sustainable.

TIMELESS
Are these items cool now or will are they actually be timeless? for example: Graphic Tees and converse style shoes have been around forever!

Affordable
Without asking you to take on a second Mortgage just to afford the clothes you like, we like to offer the best quality for affordable prices.
You shouldn't have to sacrifice your style just because the price tags is higher than a car payment or the quality is lacking.
"Perseverance and resilience are key.
I also try to remain true to my vision.
The idea is to create go-to pieces for a woman's wardrobe and her life— beautifully crafted pieces that a woman will love today, in two months, in two years, in five years—and to do that for as many women as possible."
—Narciso Rodriguez

About me:
About me: She moved from the Netherlands to the United States in march 2014. Lived here ever since. She worked on getting her citizenship for many years, which is a long and costly process.
Finally got sworn in on March 10th, 2023 as US citizen.
"My commitment is to make a strong and modern collection without compromising my ethics and key values, taking into consideration where materials come from and who is making them"
I grew up in a small town in the Netherlands. Went to college to study Tourism and business management. Absolutely loved every moment of it. It's was probably the most fun study to major in.
My parents separated when I was young and both enjoyed traveling a lot. My dad took roadtrips and my mom mostly picked places that required flying.
Every small break from school or work, I would go to Belgium to visit family.
I have a little brother. He's 12 years younger.
My mom passed away in feb 2012 due to cancer.
When I moved to America, it's wasn't an easy transition. Which would be a story for another day.
I tried looking for jobs but the application process was not 'immigrant' friendly.
The online process hardly ever allows people to select other schools or countries they've lived in. So lying would be the only option if I want to click "next or continue" and that's not the way I want to start a career. Can't send in a paper application nowadays either.
The clothing wasn't my style at all. I was either too tall or in between sizes. I've actually been reading more and more about people searching for in-between sizes like me. But the "fashion" was just not for me. When I did wear my personal style, people would always ask me what I was dressed up for or where are you going dressed like that. I would simply wear a sweater dress or a pair of jeans, graphic tee, blazer and pair of sneakers. I mean is that what we consider being 'too' dressed up?? Those comments were made all the time to where I just started wearing what everyone else did, as if it was expected of me. Either way it made me uncomfortable.
Then life got really crazy with all the surgeries and healing my stepdaughter had. Homeschooling for her years. My own health threw me some curveballs. I had some health scares that dragged on for years. Then injured my knee that was misdiagnosed. Due to all that and lockdowns, I suffered from a burn out.
I got extremely overwhelmed by everything that happened all at once.
Sitting at home while injured gave me time to think..
OVERNIGHT life seemed to have changed.
It sparked a fire in me to start for myself, like I've wanted since I was a little kid. NOW even more so!
There was really no better time than now. Why wait, and wait for what? The perfect timing?
I also wondered what my stepdaughter would be able to do, due to all her disabilities. If she could work for herself, would that be better for her?
If could teach myself and succeed, I could teach her how to start her own little business if she wanted to.
Plus I wanted to get back to wearing clothes that I enjoyed. Pieces that fit my personal style, despite what everyone else thinks. I want to feel comfortable in my clothes. Feeling comfortable in our clothes builds confidence and self-esteem. When we feel good about ourselves and what we wear, it 100% shows!
I wanted that for myself and everyone else. Including YOU!
The problem was, I couldn't find the clothing pieces I was looking for.
Decently priced and good lasting quality. It didn't exist. So....
I created it.
To be real honest with you.
I’m not obsessed with clothing or fashion. I’m not a fashionista. I live in leggings and comfy clothes most days. I don’t care about most trends.
I love black leggings/joggers and an oversized old sweater. Besides blue jeans 😂 And yes, I’m a "boutique" owner.
What I am PASSIONATE about is how the right piece of clothing, should be availble for each woman’s body type. A closet full of clothes that don't fit is frustrating. So i want her to have pieces that FIT her and make getting dressed everyday fun and easy. To help her feel confident! I’m obsessed with breaking the rules women put on themselves for what they 'can and can not' wear. Because at the end of the day, confidence is the most gorgeous thing you could ever wear.
I didn’t start this business so I could be the next big boutique with 7000 clothing items with crappy material, shoes that aren't comfortable to walk in, clothing sizes that are made for children or cheap accessories. I started it to fill in the gap and be a place for women to find their staples, supports, go to pieces and items that fit their lifestyle. I believe comfort and style can most definitly go hand in hand. I believe the numbers on clothing mean absolutely nothing and that it’s ok if you are both a medium and a XL or a L and a 2X, because numbers and labels don’t define us and aren’t a grading system of our beauty and worth. (personally i go from a small 1 day to size 14 or xl the next) So that’s what I’m here for and if you are too, then yay!
